Speaking True is against Yahoo Guidelines.

Postmortem: unfortunately for the humor of the matter, Yahoo Answers decided that truth is indeed not against their guidelines. 

Roann wrote a poem about mind interfering with happiness. I answered her post with one word:

"True"

Yahoo says:

So now agreeing with the content of a person's post is chat, gibberish or a rant? I suspect that Yahoo Guidelines are rewriting English so that chat means letters, gibberish means sense and a rant means expressing ideas. 

How can this stand unless Yahoo is a fraud?

Cassie Had It Right is Incomprehensible

My friend posted a poem. Another answerer suggested some good changes and I said "Cassie had it right" which got reported. 

Here is Yahoos response to my appeal:

Watch out for him. He is out to corrupt the morals* (and steal the poems) of young writers to scam their friends out of money.

*Stealing is corrupting morals isn't it?

While the REASON is not correct, the answer WAS likely a violation. Either chatting or not an answer would be my guess. What I believe happened is that there is likely a certain single button (like F1, F2, etc.) or a tick box, or keystroke combination that staff uses when they deny an appeal that designates what the reason for the violation
was. And somebody clicked / ticked or otherwise typed the wrong reason. It happens. After all, staff IS human and sometimes makes mistakes. 

A more precise answer as to the correct reason for the violation would need to have the question along with your answer. Context is everything.

Yahoo is Fallible?

Another member of yahoo answers sent me a puzzle involving horses because he had heard I was in Mensa at one time. When I failed to solve the puzzle he decided I was stupid and wrote a poem about it.

IF yahoo guidelines were not a TRAVESTY and used by troll to punish the good, I could just have reported it. But the evil users who have multiple accounts and spend their day spreading misery report every minute possible infraction from one of their 50+ accounts and when you have enough bad reports you can no longer FILE reports on other users. This all the legit people are silenced and only the trolls can report. 

My poem was an ANSWER to the questions posed by the user and while you may say that HIS post was chat or a rant, mine was a simple response TO THE QUESTIONS POSED.

I know you will disagree because if I do not comply with the policy of throwing an imaginary report at someone for transgressing the imaginary guidelines then I am wrong anyway. So if you are just going to spout policy, save me any response.

Read my profile. Yahoo reports the most innocuous questions and 99% of the time completely ignores the appeals. Probably human limitations right? But USERS are not allowed human imperfections BECAUSE BEING FALLIBLE IS AGAINST GUIDELINES.

Holiday Nightmares Become Boring Commonplaces

Hi friends,

I have done many sorts of volunteer work over the years and I have come up with a simple rule for myself. If I am not willing to WORK for a cause actively I don't just throw money at it. 

That being said, many lives are improved by the work of charities, despite the fact that many charities are 75% overhead and much money donated to overseas causes goes to the hands of politicians, dictators and warlords. Charity is a good impulse. 

Here is where I get annoyed. Just like action movies deaden our response to violence, commercials showing dying babies and sick pets disgust me with the CHARITY, not with the situation. 

Jesus said the poor will always be with us, but that is not a reason not to help. But any charity that is going to throw dead babies into my livingroom will NEVER get money out of me until they change their ways. 

Graphic, gory and manipulative commercials make me a little more cynical every day. Rather than crying over suffering children I am approaching the point of making jokes in a mock narrator's voice. I don't like feeling this way AND I BLAME THE PRODUCERS of such garbage.

Why don't they run a commercial saying "We know you are humane enough to send money without having to be brutalized by a shocking (well unfortunately no longer shocking) graphic commercial during your holiday season."

That (if the dog and cat people joined in too) I would pay for. But I will not send 50 cents a day for being abused and diminished as a human being.
